Interpol has developed a dedicated unit to combat crypto crimes.

One of the world’s largest police agencies has established a specialized unit in Singapore to assist governments across the world in combating cybercrime involving cryptocurrencies.

During a news conference at Interpol’s 90th General Assembly in Delhi, Interpol Secretary-General Jürgen Stock stated that, in the absence of a legal framework, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum pose challenges to law enforcement agencies throughout the world.

Stock further claimed that the specialized unit’s major focus will be cryptocurrency and cybercrime.

Interpol’s recent efforts to track crypto crimes are not the organization’s first venture into cryptocurrencies.

This might be good news for the crypto market since it will assist governments across the world implement new crypto regulations, which could benefit crypto traders.
